Contemporary Art in Florence!

Palazzo Strozzi in Florence—a destination for international cultural events—is now hosting an exhibition by Olafur Eliasson, an Icelandic artist who moved to Denmark during his childhood. His current exhibition was so well received that it had 2 million visitors at the Tate in London. The exhibition accompanies us on a journey into a minimalist perception of light, sensation and emotion through filters, screens and mirrors that shape and direct the light.

In every exhibition room she entered, my daughter, Caterina, was thrilled to run, jump, and play with the light and shadows. The most exciting room was called “Beauty.” On the opposite side of a dark room a light descended through a fine drizzle, forming the colors of a rainbow, like inverted flames. As she walked through the rain, Caterina turned her gaze upward, feeling those tiny drops falling down her face. It lasted only a few seconds, but the desire to experience the rainbow-colored light again and again remains with her.

Experiencing contemporary art with children is an activity that makes them more sensitive to the reality that surrounds them, stimulating their creativity.

Don’t miss an opportunity to visit the exhibitions of Palazzo Strozzi with a guide.
